On 19 November 2010, the 160th anniversary of the Cracow Chamber of Commerce and Industry was celebrated in the representative halls of the Cracow City Hall. Invited guests included representatives of cultural and scientific circles, government authorities and media. The event was an opportunity to recapitulate the Chamber’s achievements and to honour companies and persons who considerably contributed to the city’s and region’s economic growth.
One of the elements of the gala was the presentation of Teodor Baranowski Honorary Diplomas and certificates confirming the entry in the Honorary Book of Awards and Distinctions.
During the event, our Company was honoured twice: with a Tadeusz Baranowski Honorary Diploma and a Certificate of entry in the Honorary Book of Awards and Distinctions. President Wiesław Hałucha accepted the diploma and the certificate on the Company’s behalf.
Since 2006, the Board of CCI has been awarding Teodor Baranowski diplomas to companies that are prominent in implementing and applying cutting-edge technical, technological or other solutions considered innovative. The distinction is awarded as a homage to the proinnovative activity of Teodor Baranowski, who was the third chairman of the Chamber in 1874, member of the Brotherhood of the Rooster, the Rooster King in 1844, member of the Municipal Council and, since 1849, owner of the oil factory in Wolska Street, where the first steam machine in Poland operated. Our Company was among the entities that received the Honorary Diploma for the innovation, which is the granulated magnesium sulphate fertiliser, an innovative product that has not been produced in the EU before, is obtained as a product of a wasteless, material- and energy-saving technology, meets the requirements of the EC, is available in a granulated, easily sown form, and has high content of quickly-soluble and easily assimilable magnesium compounds.
The Company also received a CCI certificate of entry in the Honorary Book of Awards and Distinctions, i.e. for awards received from November 2009 to October 2010, namely the Pearl of Polish Economy in the Great Pearls category, the Outstanding Exporter of the Year 2009 for achievements in the area of the development of exports, the Little Pearl for flaked calcium nitrate garden fertiliser in the “Polish Fertilisers” competition, Polish Product of the Future 2010 award for magnesium sulphate granulated fertiliser MagPlon MgS and the title of the Reliable Employer in Małopolska in 2009.
In relation to the awarding of the Teodor Baranowski diploma, Zakłady Chemiczne Alwernia S.A. has also received a congratulations letter from the Marshal of the Małopolskie province, Marek Nawara, expressing his recognition of our Company’s achievements in the scope of implementing innovations.
