Flaked calcium nitrate has received the title of the Pearl Among Fertilisers, granted by farmers responding to a survey on Polish fertilisers in the 8th edition of the “Polish Fertilisers” competition.
Awards of the editorial board of “Zielony Sztandar” magazine for the best manufacturers of Polish fertilisers were granted for the 8th time.
The best fertiliser manufacturers from Poland submitted their products to the “Polish Fertilisers” competition. The products were assessed (from March to December 2009) by means of surveys filled out by 13 000 farmers from all over the country, who took specific effects of a particular fertiliser into account.
The patrons of the competition were: Waldemar Pawlak – Vice-President – Minister of Economy, Marek Sawicki – Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and Jarosław Kalinowski – Member of the European Parliament.
The competition committee composed of prof. dr hab Seweryn Kukuła from the Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation, prof. dr hab Edmund Kaca, dr Wiesław Golka, dr Andrzej Seliga from the Institute of Technology and Life Sciences and doc. Janusz Igras from the Department of Plant Nutrition and Fertilisation summed up the points and awarded the prizes.
Z.Ch. “Alwernia” received a Pearl for its flaked calcium nitrate garden fertiliser. The award is particularly valuable, because it is granted by consumers (farmers), which means that the fertiliser met their requirements.
The diploma for Z.Ch. “Alwernia” S.A. and the statue of the “Pearl” were accepted during a festive gala of the 8th edition of the “Polish Fertilisers” competition on 28 January 2010 in Warsaw by President of the Board of Directors – Wiesław Hałucha and Sales Director – Mirosław Szpila.
